Paraequestrian

The dressage for equestrians with disabilities has been an Olympic sport program since 1996. The worldwide development is almost phenomenal.

Hereby the level of equestrian abilities as well as the quality of the horses increased immensely.

In 2006 paraequestrian sport was officially recorded for the international Equestrian Federation FEI as the eight discipline and is hereby on an equal basis to all other equestrian disciplines.

In 2010 a joint world championship with all eight disciplines was aligned in the American Lexington/ Kentucky for the very first time in history.

For this reason the equestrian sports is an “opinion leader” and “pioneer” for a lot of different sports when it comes to the integration of handicapped sports.

Due to the nature of the disability, each rider is classified and assigned to a “grade”.

In Mannheim the Paraequestrian sports is a main pillar in the show. Mannheim is the first show worldwide that included the Para_Equsetrians into the traditional show and held the first Nations cup ever for Para-Equestrians.
